Tribal Environmental Director:
John Rodwan

I am employed with the Tribe as the Tribal Environmental Director in the Environmental Department. As a lifelong Michigan resident with a love of nature and the environment I obtained a M.S. degree in geology from Western Michigan. My 20+ year career began as a District Geologist with the State of Michigan working with environmental compliance issues. From there I was employed with engineering and environmental firms where I gained considerable experience with hydrogeologic investigations, soil and groundwater cleanups, hazardous materials management programs, site assessments and brownfields studies. I have resided in the Battle Creek area for the past 16 years with my wife and two young boys. My wife is a high school geology teacher and my personal interests include woodworking, gardening, forestry and local history. Working with the Tribe gives me the opportunity to merge my career with my personal interests and focus them on a single goal.

Habitat Restoration Specialist:
Amy Boetcher

I recently joined the Tribe as a Habitat Restoration Specialist. I received my B.S. in Biology from the University of Michigan, and my M.S. in Biology from Central Michigan University. I’ve lived most of my life in Michigan, but have worked on numerous community projects involving the environment and/or education in several states and the Virgin Islands. My interest in working towards a healthy balance between human progress and conservation should compliment the existing goals of the Tribe’s Environmental Department. Outside of work I enjoy hiking, kayaking, sailing and painting. I am very excited to be working in the collaborative NHBPI community, where I hope to learn much and contribute to the health of the beautiful habitats here on the Pine Creek Reservation.
