Tribal Housing Director: Dorie Rios

Dorie is a member of the NHBP Tribe and has been employed with the Tribe since 1998. She was originally hired as a Contract Health Representative in the Tribal Health Department. In 1999, she took an Administrative Assistant position with the newly formed Housing Department and was promoted to Housing Director in 2001.

Dorie manages affordable housing activities that are funded through grants received from the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Native American Programs.

She currently lives in the Battle Creek area with her family, Diop, their son Diop II and daughter Dyami. Growing up in Battle Creek, she attended Battle Creek Public Schools and Kellogg Community College. Her hobbies and interests include cooking, gardening, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with family.
